Athletic Rhy Club (ARC) is the first premium boutique fitness club in Schaffhausen. Inspired by the endless flow of the Rhine or “Rhy” as locals call it. Just as the river has powered the region’s economy for centuries, ARC channels that same energy into health, strength, and community.
At ARC, our mission is to bridge the gap between health and fitness by empowering people to move beyond simply feeling good toward living active, balanced, and connected lives. We create experiences that strengthen the bond between health, community, friends, and family, building a lifestyle where this mindset is shared, sustainable, and inspiring.
High-impact small group training for fast, measurable results. Master your movement with expert-led HIIT, functional fitness for HYROX and CrossFit, and structured running programmes designed to elevate your performance.
Focused on specific goals & building strength in key areas, strength training activates the essential building blocks to support performance.
Low intensity, building aerobic capacity and recovery. Aiming to restore both the nervous system and the muscles while actively building endurance. A foundation to lifelong fitness.
We are humans. We love being among driven, like-minded people. We create a space to share values and ethos that foster bonds that go beyond reps and sets.

For two decades, Schaffhausen native Marco Kern lived the life of an elite competitor, capturing six Swiss championship titles, representing Switzerland internationally ten times, and racing in the World University Games final in Kazan. Today, he channels that high-performance drive into ARC, balancing elite-level programming with the welcoming spirit of a community leader.
A well-connected figure in Swiss sports association, Marco previously captained the adidas Runners Zurich community and co-founded the Schaffhausen-based running company, Runaissance. Outside work and the track, he enjoys life in Schaffhausen with his partner and their son.
Vago has spent his life in sport. It started in childhood with martial arts — American Kenpo and kickboxing — then moved to the gym, swimming and running. In 2012 he found CrossFit, and it’s shaped how he trains ever since.
In 2019 he co-founded a successful CrossFit gym in London. That’s where he learned what it really takes to build a place that lasts: sharp programming, high standards, and above all, community. He has coached functional fitness since 2017 and is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer.
At ARC, Vago leads strategy, growth, and operations — channelling everything he’s learned into an athletic club built on real coaching and an uncompromising standard. Vago lives in Feuerthalen with his wife and kids. When he’s not working, training, or coaching, you’ll find him by the Rhine.
Lena is a movement all-rounder with an appetite for everything the body can do. In her early twenties she travelled to India to complete her yoga teacher training and to immerse herself in meditation and free dance.
She has taught ever since, returning again and again to ashrams for longer stays to deepen the practice. In 2021 Capoeira Angola — often called the yoga of Bahia — came into her life, and it has been a large part of her movement practice since.
Lena has a gift for making the complex accessible: she meets her students exactly where they are.You may already have practised with her at sunrise on the Rhine — Lena teaches the morning classes at the Rhybadi in Schaffhausen. At ARC, she brings that same quality of attention indoors, year-round.
